This was a fun show as it
always is when Deke
Dickerson & the Eccofonics
are playing. The Monsters
opened with the pie shop
about 2/3 full (meaning
about 20 people were
there) and fueled by lots of
Schlitz, PBR and Natty Boh,
got the place shakin'.
Mike learned an important
lesson from Deke that he
wished he knew years ago
-- use the guitar string, not
the lip, to test the mic for
potential shocks. Feeling
the Halloween spirit, in a
surprise move, especially
to half the band, Ron sang
Goo Goo Muck at the end
of the Monsters set. Deke
& the Eccofonics followed
and just ripped it up natch,
and had just about
everyone dancing.
A former Eccofonic (bass
player now w/ Social
Distortion) dropped in to
say hey and ended up
slappin' the bass and
crooning a few with Deke &
Sugarballs. Much pie and
beer was consumed. All in
all, a very memorable night
in Mobtown. Doesn't get
much better than that...
